My name is Donna, and I have been a registered childminder since 1998.

During that time, I have cared for over a dozen children, mostly long-term. Over the years, I have refined my practice and have introduced policies and themes, as well as attending various training courses to improve the care I provide.

I have passed the ICP (Introduction to Childminding Practice), the first part of a level 3 certificate in childminding. I am currently studying the NVQ3 in Early Years Care and Education and hope to finish in the summer of 2004. I am also working towards the *Darlington Kitemark Quality Assurance scheme and have already passed three modules.

During my free time I have also attended various other courses, including paediatric first aid, behaviour management, child health, child protection, arts and crafts and Birth to 3 Matters.

I live in Darlington, am married with two children and we have a dog and two cats. I am a member of the PTA and am involved with the various schools, nurseries and playgroups the children attend.

Please see the "standards" page for information on my recent OFSTED inspection!

*Darlington Quality Assurance Kitemark

This is a voluntary scheme open to all childcare providers, consisting of eight modules undertaken over two years. The requirements of the Kitemark are higher and broader than for the childrens act or OFSTED inspections, and assure parents and carers that the provision they have chosen provides the highest quality of care.
