What does a Childminder do?
Childminders provides care for children in their own home, offering a range of care and play activities.
Childminders (other than relatives) who look after children for a total of more than 2 hours per day and for any form of reward (in money or in kind) must BY LAW be registered by OFSTED.
OFSTED keep a register of all childminders in the area and arrange annual inspections. Each childminders home is visited to make sure it is a safe and suitable place for young children. Checks are made on the health and experience of the childminder together with Police checks.
